Are there any cheats/hacks to reveal what the AI is doing? I just got ninja'd on my wonder, 1 turn left, after spending like 20 on it, and frankly I want to know if the AI had been building it all along, or if this was a meta-gaming engineer use because they "knew" I was a turn away from building it.

Autosave every turn, save 20 autosaves, that should enable you to "correct" any unwanted action by the AI.

The AI isn't cheating. One of three things happened:

1) It started building the wonder before you.
2) It started building the wonder after you but had more production per turn.
3) It wanted the wonder, got a GE and decided to use the GE to rush the wonder.

Why is it that every time the AI does something that a human player doesn't like, the AI is either cheating or the game is bugged?

Because people are whiners?

There is a option to see what the AI build order is put one AI on your team and you see what its building...

There is a way to do it if you are using FireTuner. You can know what every city is building.

The reason why it happened one turn before you is probably that you and AI were following the same "build order", that's why it was so close. It often enough happens to me, especially early in the game.

Happened to me on marathon...

Playing tall, going for hanging gardens. One turn.

At least you get some money for it I sometimes dont feel bad if i got beaten by one turn then I can use that extra money to buy that citie state i love :crazyeye:

Because the AI is known to cheat/get bonuses in the game to compensate. It's not unreasonable to wonder if it's meta-gaming.

In this case, I went back 5 turns in my autosave, moved a grand total of 2 people into specialist slots which gave it enough to finish it one turn earlier, and I got it.

Looking at AIhandicap xml, they actually went out of there way to make computers build wonders at normal speed even when they have bonuses on everything else. Of course, since they have advantages in everything else including growth, they can well afford to start\finish Wonders before the player, but they're not directly stealing the wonder.

No, the AI get more the higher the difficulty (ie bonus warrior, scout, tech, etc). Other than that it plays according to the rules of the game like any player would. If a wonder was build before you for example, the AI either started it before, had more production, or used a GE. I have had lots of wonders build before I could, and it was never a problem with the AI, it was mostly because I couldn't get to that point in time or I was sloppy in using every available means possible to build that wonder.
