Stacks in combat.

That was the worse feature of Civ2, just hated it. Send in one superior unit and kill a whole stack.
 
only once i really enjoyed that feature. that was in the ww2 scenario of (i think) civ2, playing as the axis powers, when one of my subs killed the whole british navy (sth like 7 warships) at once.

that torpedo must have been built in the same factory that produced the bullet that killed Kennedy!

As far as i recall, civ1 was worse than civ2. In civ2,i believe stacked units lost 1/3 of their hitpoints when one of them lost defending, so it actually took 3 losses.
(I may be mistaking this with alpha centauri though)
In civ1, there were no hitpoints, and they all died on the first loss.
 
Pretty sure Civ2 just wiped out the whole stack. And yes, Civ1 was the worst ... I don't think I've ever had a Battleship lose to a Caravan in 2.
