I am not familiar with civ4, only played it for a very short while, with the camera it originally loads with. But i know that you could view things from different angles too, obviously.
However i was wondering if there was, in civ4, an isometric, locked camera. If not then i really hope there is one in civ5 :)

You couldn't change the angle in CivIV but you can zoom in and out. Yeah it would nice if you could change the direction of the camera in CivV. I think you could do that in CivIII.

CTRL+(Left/Right) changes the camera angle by 45 degrees in civ 4. Zoom in a little, and you've got an isometric view.

How do you define an isometric view on a hexagonal board?

Yes it's pretty to play with but you can't actually manage your civ at ground level angles :-/

I forgot civ5 was a hex-game.
Well i always prefer the isometric camera. Models just look better in it, or at least in some reasonable angle such as 22,5 45 67,5 degrees etc. But 0/90 degrees is best imo.
