I dont care if this isn't a conventional bug, or if this even is considered a bug, I just know it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Whenever I have started a new game, I generally prefer small continents or archipelago, as I like civs spread out across the world and not focused in one place. It seems, however that these maps always have a major landmass which contains around a third to a half of all civilizations, where as the other 2/3s or 1/2 are all spread around to no more than 2-3 per landmass, sometimes even alone. I wouldn't have a problem with this except that EVERY time I do a new game, I am on the major landmass, with TONS of civilizations. ALWAYS. Not once have I been secluded or left to deal with only a few civilizations for continental control. It is always with enemies everywhere.

Even if this is not exactly a bug, it is something that needs to be addressed. I like my worlds to me more random, but this is so constant that it must be coded in.

I never have this problem on Archipelago, but it is more common than not on Small Continents. I counted out of 22 starts, 18 were with at least 1 other civ on a small landmass. Of those 18, 10 starts were with 2 additional civs on a landmass only big enough for six cities. There were literally not enough tiles for any civ to settle a third (seventh total) city and have it be four tiles away from another city.

I also have this problem on Lakes and Highlands. I frequently spawn within just 8 or 10 tiles (small map) of more than one civ. I once spawned within 12 tiles of all five civs.

I never have this problem on continents or Pangaea.
