Long time reader, first time poster. Had a thought so brilliant, I just had to register to share:
I am aware that in GS, the Statue of Liberty has become more useful. As I prefer R&F, for me it is still a wonder that I never built (while the AI seems to love it, which I love).
As I was thinking how I never saw the completion video, it hit me: The real Statue of Liberty was not crafted in New York, but in France, then boxed and shipped. If I could do that it would be such an amazing wonder: Prebuild it in a strong city of my old continent, then ship it (as a great person or civilian unit similar to the space ship parts in Civ 5 perhaps?) to the new continent.
And what a perfect embodiment of frontier spirit, when an armada of settlers, military and the boxed up statue of liberty makes a landfall to express their belief in manifest destiny.
What do you think? Great idea? Horrible idea? Should be in the game? Could be a Mod?
