Bombers in RL were only popular before ICBM's became accurate, the U.S. strategic bomber (B 52)never did carry nukes, they were outclassed by ICBM's in a matter of years. I don't think you'll ever see a stealth bomber carry a nuke either. They are too slow and ICBM's are too quick.

Uhhhhh.....where did you get this information? SAC (Strategic Air Command) bombers always carried nukes. Until the end of the cold war, strategic bombers were always in the air. Bombers were always used in tandem with ICBMs. Bombers are more likely to be intercepted, but bombers have a huge diplomatic advantage over ICBMs. Bombers are easily recalled. Once an ICBM is launched, cancelling it certainly nontrivial. (I would say impossible but since I'm not an expert, giving myself some wiggle room.) The B1-B bomber is a supersonic penetrator with the Cold-war primary mission was to deliver nuclear weapons to target. Its juxtapose in the USSR was the backfire bomber.

Stratetic bombers is mutch more usfull in a diplomatic situration than ICBMs, and the ICBMs is more usefull in a millitary situation than stratetic bombers.

the thing about saying "you have 3 hours to change your mind our bombs vaporise you" is a bit more usfull in a diplomatic situation than saying "you civilization have 20 minutes left to exist in, I don't care if you change your mind i can't do anything about it any whey."

fore game purpose aginst the AI it dosen't matter wheter you use ICBM's or stratetic bombers whit nukes, but aginst other humanes i wuld love to have stratetic bombers having 5 or so show up besides on of my friends cityes and then ask if he is sure about he dosen't want to pay me 50 gpt for protection.
