Steam to Non Steam.

I'm getting a new PC, and my I want to get GTA4 on Steam and play online with my friend, but he has the non-steam version. Can we play online together?

I think the servers use the same frame-work. If not, you can maybe try this.

Seeing how GTA IV's MP is completely independent of Steam and I don't see why not. I've never heard of that being an issue either.

It is an issue on very few games, but it shouldn't be an issue for GTA4
