Strange Milestone description

Hi,

when trying to fulfill the scientific milestones, you have to collect Codex. At the moment, I have 4/3 codex but there is no progress for the milestone. As far as I have understood I need to fulfill the first step (head) in the milestones for this - sorry for my bad game English, I play the game in German - which I have.

Did you put the codices in libraries/your palace? They only count if they are slotted in a building. Sometimes this happens automatically, but in few cases I had to do it manually (and I don‘t know why). The 4/3 could be an indication that you have not enough slots.

I don’t think you need to complete the first steps shown in the milestone screen. What does it say there anyway? Research a tech mastery?

I put them all in my libraries.
As far as I can say, I was reading the - German translation - description of the milestone and the text was not clear to understand. I would say I need to complete the first step after reading, but I don't know the English description.

Isn‘t the first step just to research writing and the 2nd to build a library and research Writing II? If it displays 4/3, it seems you are already at step 4 (have 3 codices). You may have skipped step 3 (build an academy), but the first two steps should be fulfilled if you already have libraries.

Ah, so there is an order indeed to fulfill the steps. I thought that when fulfilling one it is just accepted as done.

I actually don‘t know. So far, I was under the impression that they are completely optional (but usually fulfilled automatically on the way). But your situation seems to contradict this.

I just tried it, and it's definitely not necessary to fulfill the legacy quests. I gained a point for every codex before researching mathematics and building an academy.
