Strange...

I played Civ III a TON a few years ago. Recently, I've been missing the ol' game so I decided to install it on my lappop. I have Civ III and Conquests installed. Now to the errors...

When selecting a Civ, the info part screen (Name and whatnot) the background is pink, with white moons...this is different from what I'm used to and obviously looks out of place...and awful The second strange error, where there should be circles for selecting...everything (on the same screen) I'm seeing plus and minus signs... Those errors I can deal with...but the third is very bad. It's a map error. On the bottom left corner, where I should see my own little plot of discovered land, I see a mosaic of all my enemies little plots of land.

Could it be because I used the CIV III demo installation?

Any ideas?

I would also like to mention that the pink-background-with-white-moons appears in several places, the most annoying being when selecting a science to research.

Also, I have never had the game crash until I installed it on my laptop, and the only time it crashes is when I click on "foreign advisor." Any help would be awesome.

Try a fresh install and see if you are "patched" to 1.22 version of Conquests.

One problem with this forum is that players do not come here as they have been playing a long time. It is often better to post it in the general forum. You may still not get helpo, but everyone will see it.

The only thing that comes to mind is a font issue. There are several issues with the font, so look at the FAQ and search. Good luck. I hate to see anyone not being able to play any of their games. I have been there and it is not fun.
