This is a map designed with strategy and strategic gameplay in mind. Of course, it also has a number of "hidden gems" including two civilizations that start with large advantages and a "lost civilization." While the map is based off of a random map, it has been heavily tweaked to appear realistic and to improve gameplay. You can choose from a number of civilizations to begin -- China, Rome, Egypt, Greece, France, Persia, England, the Mongols, Spain, the Ottomans and Sumeria are all playable and five others are not playable. The map is Large.

If you plan to play this scenario, please do not look at the .biq first, it ruins a lot of the fun. If you finish, or only get part of the way, post feedback here!

Just a note -- The civilization this map was originally intended for is Greece, and I think that the game is most fun with them.

Cuivienen - What is it that makes it strategic? Sounds like a nice scenario if you managed to pull off the strategic gameplay - I'm refusing to look in the editor like you reconmended. ;)

I tried to move around resources and luxuries to encourage trade and crucail decisions early on, as well as to provide some surprise bonuses late in the game. I also placed potential canal-city locations, ocean crossings, etc. in the game, but only at spots that would not unbalance the game. Mostly the map is just tweaked for slightly better gameplay than a random map gives.

Well, sounds interesting... definatly trying this, not looking in the editor :P

BTW I live for these maps, as well as 100% of the woters :P

I didnt read your warning and I looked at the map :(
