One thing i miss a lot from Civ IV and i couldn't find it on V G&K, was the possibility to build forts as canals connecting two oceans or ocean/lake.
Since it is actually a huge "national effort" to build something like the Panama Canal or the Suez Canal, it could be a National Wonder, build only in tiles that connect oceans.
It is really annoying to build cities in these tiles just to get your naval units into seas inaccessible through ocean due to ice.
Is there any mod like that?
