Super Isolated Starts

Oof, I just started on a super isolated continent by myself. MARATHON/HUGE btw. feel my pain

not gonna restart though, this is actually the first time i've ever had such an extreme isolated start.

it is painfully slow and painfully boring at the moment

just waiting for navigation -_-

on the upside, i'm happily focusing on culture and growth without having to worry about invaders or building armies

hey, reviving the thread for a specific question: which religion would you pick with theodora with a super isolated start? Assuming you are surrounded by ocean so no spreading before renaissance but can still meet other civs with triremes? Would you pick a religion that does not need spreading like inheritance+theocratic? (you can still buy resources for wltkd). Or do you prepare to spread in renaissance with prophets? Inheritance does not kick often anyway before renaissance, maybe it's worth to wait?

Pressure already travels through water once you unlock embarkation IIRC.

Pressure over water only exists between coastal cities that can be connected by sea trade routes.

If you can meet other cities with triremes, then your probably have access and you might want to maximize your cities in the coast if you care about spreading your religion.
