...Skyrocketing oil prices led to a severe worldwide depression and political upheaval. The collapse of America's geopolitical position created fundamental changes in the world order. An ambitious China quickly filled the power vacuum by lending economic and political support to the fledgling Islamic Federation. North Korea's forcible unification and China's absorption of Taiwan were protested, but uncontested. Regional power blocs formed for self-preservation. It is now 2013, and world hegemony is up for grabs...
(from the introduction)

This is a new Conquests scenario designed for those who enjoy modern warfare. It's set in a hypothetical future 2013 AD, with the world organized into 16 power blocs and nations:

Islamic Federation
European Union
People's Republic of China
Russian Federation
United States of America
New Commonwealth (UK, Canada, Anzac)
African Union
Central American Democratic Union
South American Federation
Southeast Asian Defensive Alliance
Brazil
Korea
Japan
Indonesia
Republic of India
Israel

There are three fixed alliances: China & Korea; USA, New Commonwealth & Israel; and Islamic Federation. USA/Commonwealth/Israel starts at war with the Islamists. Everyone has nukes.

Map is 100x100 which I borrowed and modified (from either Rhy or Kal-El, sorry I can't remember which). The Pacific is a little cramped but otherwise I think this is a terrific map for the purpose of a quick violent game.

There are many little tweaks to the rules which I won't go into. You can discover them as you play. But there is nothing radical - basic CIV with some of the cultural stuff discarded to emphasize the politics and war. For example, there are NO wonders of the world (but all the minor wonders are available).

Each civ is a bit different to play and not just because of Geography. The USA, Commonwealth, and EU have a technological edge over the rest. China is militarily the most powerful. The Islamic Federation is huge but until it takes out Israel, is cut into two parts. The smaller civilizations like India or the African Union should hope the big boys wear each other down while they build up their infrastructure and create a modern military force. Then they can pick up the pieces.

Domination victory occurs at 51% world population. There is no culture flipping and there are no settlers. You must fight to win.

Why the heck did I create yet another hypothetical post-modern scenario? Well, the scenarios I tested were either too large or too political. I wanted something reminscint of the 1980's(?) board game Supremacy (but more fun). Hence, Supremacy - Civ Style.

Hi I played some turns (Osama Ben Laden . This scenario is quite good, I have some suggestions:
1)Maybe you may delete some nuclear missiles
2)Disband Mutual protections
3)Make stronger Israel,India and Russia. In Israel,EU and Japan you may add some American units
4)Other logic step is make some American allies as colonies and Japan may be in alliance with USA and Israel

After 1st turn I destroyed Israelis, after 6 turns I captured about 5 Russian cities and Indian 3 cities(with Chinas help)

Thanks, I welcome your suggestions.
1. I all my test games, no civ used nukes until I did. So, it didn't seem to matter how many there were. But what would you say was a reasonable number?
2. I may do that. The locked alliances ensure that a world war will start immediately. But that sometimes can lead to routine.
3. India probably needs a stronger economy. But I thought Russia was pretty powerful, if they can avoid war with China & EU that is. Their southern fringe is very vulnerable, and I don't know if that isn't unavoidable. Were they not able to mount an effective counterattack?
4. I may add civilopedia entries for all the antagonists to make more clear the world situation. Japan became less close to US and more independent and militaristic. I've assumed the US has been forced to leave it's bases in Okinawa and elsewhere in the Pacific Islands (except Guam, which is an airbase on the map).

I also find that easy strategy is going with groups of 5-6 units. Enemy will start going individual and not attack them. After it I may easy destroyed them, or better-attack city where is usually only 2 units. So other way may be add some fortresses and immobile units, especially in influental cities....

And good idea is defending factor of workers and artillery :goodjob:
