SwordsmanFortify SPACE .wav

I hit the greyscreen of death when I first get Swordsman, and went into the folders and changed all the SwordmanFortify .wav files I could find. I still hit the errorscreen, and I don't have any more .wav files to change.

Where is the mysterious file found? I even looked in the INI files, no entry that I can see with the extra space.

Help please?

(edit) I just did a full comp search and entered the filename with the space between SwordsmanFortify and the .wav but the computer only returned the files in the CE folder, not Conquests, and the files it returned HAD NO SPACE in them! What's going on??? I'm totally lost. I fixed this once, a long time ago, but did a system overhaul so had to reinstall. Same problem, I know it's fixable, but I just can't find it...

correctimundo, cheese. Know where I found it? In the PTW folder! I'm playing Conquests, FGS! Can you beat that?

(I also hit the InfantryDeath .wav, just in case...)

try re-installing C3C. usually fixes things. have it not delete ur saved files tho. and back up any scenerios u wanna keep.

I don't think there is supposed to be a space in that file name, try taking the space out.

BTW, I do not agree with reloading the game, I have never had to reload any game ever. It looks like that file name has been accidentally changed. I checked my files and there is no space. The game will crash if it can't find the exact filename it is looking for.

I had the very same error a couple of days ago, and was very surprised to see that the default file is indeed 'SwordsmanFortivy .wav'.
However, I never had that problem when I played VC3 or PtW (and mods), so the answer is propably the same as for the notorious 'HelicopterRun .wav' (a frequent problem for modders):
This seems to have been adressed in one or more of the earlier VC3 and/or PtW patches as well in the later releases like Complete, but not in VC3 1.29.
So, in all installations that were kept up-to-date with every patch no spaces appear - but, if, like in my case, you install only Civ3 (original disk) + 1.29, you end with those oddly spelled files..

Which, btw, do not cause problems by themselves, since the respective ini points correctly - only if another ini file links to those wavs, the game crashes.
