Tech trading slide scale

What do you guys/gals play on? I use defaults currently and I am not too happy with results. Don't get me wrong, I am having a blast as usual. But I just want more time to enjoy the units as they become available instead of always having to upgrade in order to keep up with the rival civs constant defensive upgrades.

I don't want the modern era in 1200-1600 AD!

I also don't want to adjust the scales to give me an advantage over the AI, just want a fair game that puts a slight slowdown on tech researching.

Any thoughts? Great job on the patch Firaxis!

i play regent too, and have just played a game with AI to AI trade on 120. Im half-way through my game and its still fairly bad... theres another thread round here and a lot of the civers recommend playing chieftain, warlord + regent with the value at 100. I just changed it in my bic file and about to try it out. wish me luck!

Yeah, I found the advancement too quick sometimes especially if theres lots of civs. By the time I built my cavarly were using tanks damn annoying. But go the editor and go to world sizes and then theres something called tech rate. Increase that its makes the tech progress go slower hence longer time with same units. More fighting!

Also yeah mess around with the ai trading as well also helps.
