I just generated this start with the Amurites. If it was something like ErebusContinent I wouldn't be too surprised because it tends to horde resources, but this was just plain ol' tectonics. I didn't even have Blessings checked!

Note: Yes, that is Yggdrassil just to the south.

I definitely need more starts in that. The thing that annoys me about plantation resources is that so often they start in the jungle and I need Bronze Working to work them. Are these covered in jungle?

Nope. Regular old grassland, hence why I beelined Calendar

Ha! That's all you got? Most of the time with me there's another patch the same size a few tiles off. Do you have on Blessings of Amathon? That could cause it. Or balanced resources.

Edit: Just noticed you didn't have balanced on. My bad.

Dyes are one of those resources that almost always appear on a lot of close by tiles rather than spread apart across the map. This setup really wouldn't even be all that odd in Vanilla Civ IV, apart from the Yggdrasil of course.

..I need more starts like that...

Still, I've noticed that when it rains goodness in a start, it pours.

I can remember being in the center between Yggdrasil, the Broken Sepulcher, the Tomb of Sucellos and Dragon Bones, as the Svarts, once..Now THERE was an awesome start.

..Too bad I misjudged just how.."opportunistic" the AI was. Had two civs declare war on me, when I was top dog in military..never understood why, we were friends, on the same Council. Was cheerfully beating them away when five other civs jumped me from behind.

I don't know if it's because the AI is just stupid when it declares war, in the latest version..or if it's subtly sneaky and much more backstabbing.

Bah, I lost it. I had to DoW the Elohim to stop them from taking a prime city spot(they got a settle there one turn before me! One turn!). I was holding them off easily and was about to invade when Cassiel declared war on me. Cassiel, of all people. Instead of the Elohim's measly 3 :strength: warriors, he has 5 :strength: axemen, and wiped the map with me.
