I want to report about a game I just finished.
I was Caesar of Rome; looking for a good site for my people, I opened some goody huts - 2 chariots. One was sent westwards, the other went to the east. Soon my firts two cities, Rome and Veii were founded, each city had 4 specials.
My exploring chariots opend a lot of huts and found gold, techs )invention and medicine in 2500 B.C.!) and military units. The archers were sent home, the horses and chariots helped to explore. The eastern team met the Persians and managed to capture their capital, Persepolis. 2 other Persian cities, Antioch and Pasargadae, were bribed. The western team fought with the Sioux and extinguished them by capturing their capital, Little Big Horn, now a pearl in my crown.
So I had 3 centres of expansion: Rome, Persepolis and Little Big Horn. I managed to build the Pyramids, the Hanging Gardens, The Lighthouse, Marco Polo's Embassy and the Great Library.
My neighbours in the east were the Zulus. The were very unfriendly. I bribed 3 of their 10 cities, then I managed to bribe the rest except their capital which was taken by some of my brave dragoons.
In the west, on a really huge continent, I met the Carthaginans, The Vikings and the Spanish. They all rejected my friendship.
So a long, long war began, it lasted nearly 2000 years. I bribed over 50 cities, destroyed some others. Madrid, for example, was a size-19-city; my vet spies poisoned it to size 1, then it was destroyed by my artillery.
I built nearly every wonder except the Colossus, Copernicus and the Great Wall. Two of these wonders vanished with the fall of Madrid.
In the last years of my reign there was a global warming, my vet spies had planted too much nuclear devices. But still my empire grew - luxury rate 50 % and more.
I finsihed this game with a new personal record - more than 500 % - in 2017 by bribing the last Viking city, Jorvik.
