About Last week ,the grand center of Diamond's in Antwerp (diamond capitol of the world) was almost completly robbed empty. The robbers got in at night ,without actually braking in something ,robbing an ammount of diamond's roughly estimated value 400.000.000$. (OUCH  )
The police suspect's it to have been an inside job ,4 men are already arrested and questioned on it ,although there is no clue yet on the actual whereabouts of the diamonds.

The article estimate's a loss of about 5 million dollar's ,but that were only the claims at day 1 ,before they noticed that the vaults at the other level's were robbed to.Untill now for about 400$ of claims have been filed ,and expected is that this will rise even somewhat more. Those claims is what the robbed people say they had in the vualts at tha time ,so it could be that some are overexachurating at first a bit ,though they have to prove this with paper's so it shouldn't be to far of this grand total.

Anybody heard of a heist that got even more money at once ,or is this really the biggest heist ever?

In 1911, the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Lourve museum. Two years later it was recovered. The painting is priceless, though, so I don't have a dollar value.

So this has quite a high chance to be the biggest heist ever.In anyway ,The Antwerp diamond center is one of the most secured place's in the world ,with camera's ,laser beam's and armed security about everywhere. These guys must have been real pro's if they done this withought inside help.

Well since it is artwork it doesn't really count.About the same year the Rightfull judge's ,a sidepanel of a painting from the Van Eyck (famous old flemmish painters) was stolen to ,you could see that piece as priceless to.
