Amazing the only time I get support for underwater cities is when I make a typo saying that they wouldn't be cool. If you have read my ealier post you will see that I would love underwater cities.

i can see some promise there, with the right rules and abilities

It seems impractical for them to be defended with land units, though.

Bad idea imho :/
Civ has always been a historical game.
We've seen in the other civ3 game that a future area is a bad idea (civ3:call to power)

Civilization: Call to Power II was a good game. The future area was cool. The problems with it (IMO) came down to a lack of manoveurability, graphics (such as city views) and the featuring of lawyers and such.
