The Northern States Alliance

This accord shall come into effect in the event that war should break out between Fanatikou and the Gamecatcher Alliance. It is agreed upon that the Gamecathcers Alliance refusal to vacate Fanatikese lands is an act of war.

Purpose

The Gamecathcer Alliance has continually sent troops into Fanatikese lands illegally. It now appears as if they wish to take a Fanatikese city with their refusal to vacate our lands. The nations of Elucidia, Apolyton and Fanatikou hereby agree that any act of agression by the Gamecathcer Alliance upon any of the afor mentioned nations shall be met with the severest of response from Elucidia, Apolyton and Fanatikou.

Clauses

The Apolyton, Elucidia issue

By adhering to The Northern States Alliance the nations of Apolyton and Elucidia agree to a Non-Agression pact and a Rights of Passage only for the purpose of sending military units to aid in battle against the Gamecatcherite forces. The Non-Agression pact and Rights of Passage shall last for 15 turns after the end of the war. This ensures that Apolyton has the ability to aid in the war, but that Elucidia feels safe knowing that Apolyton is in their land soly for the purpose of aiding in the effort against the Gamecatcher Alliance.

Spolis of War

Apolytopn must give up cities captured to Fanatikou and Elucidia. These cities will not be useful to Apolyton. Elucidia and Fanatikou shall share all cities. However any cities Apolyton turns over with only one ressource or Luxury, must be traded to Apolyton for 30 turns after the turn over of the city. Also, if there are any cities that are captured with two luxuries, the second must go to Apolyton for 30 turns. If there are three luxuries, one must go to Apolyton for 30 turns, and the third must either go to Elucidia or Fanatikou for 30 turns.

War Planning

All war planning must be co-ordinated and conducted between all three nations.

I really think we should get all three nations together. Also we must KNOW that GC will be attacking. If they catch wind of this they will most likly hold off any assault. Scedual a chat with them goonie, so that office members can attend. I think we should show CDG our draft though for thier input.

What is a good time for you guys for the chat?

I don't like the idea of meeting to discuss an alliance prior to any actual hostilities taking place. It certainly tips our hand. All it takes is for one of the other nations to pass this info on to GCA and we've got a problem.

The pace of this game is sufficient to allow us ample time to negotiate such an alliance if hostilities were to break out in the immediate future. I strongly suggest that we wait before convening a meeting with our neighbors. Continue to prepare a rough draft of a proposed agreement, but let's hold off on actually approaching them just yet.

The Gamecathcer Alliance has continually sent troops into Fanatikese lands illegally.

From a technical standpoint, this is false and should be removed. We never signed a formal agreement with GC.

Also, I agree with FortyJ. Though discussions over the topic with rivals has taken place, it still shouldn't be on our minds too much. As was pointed out by the Apolytonians, this may just be a force to test our reaction. We don't know what they're up to.

Told me what?:Confused:

@FortyJ.
If someone tells GCA that is good, because as it is said in the agreement, "any act of agression by the Gamecathcer Alliance", this is a defensive pact. I disagree with you about not warning our neighboors. I want at least permission to talk to Poly about the possibility of them getting and NAP and ROP with Elucidia if they aid in the war. It is disrespectful if we keep them in the dark until the last minute. If anyone tips of GC, who cares! We don't want this war at the moment! We want the war when we are ready, and that is why we should go and talk to these nations now.

@Oct.
I've said this before, but I will say it again. Exageration works wonders ;).

I think we should try to make a pact, but only if GCA remains aggressive and refuses to let us be. I they withdraw and we made that pact, then we may look like a paranoid bunch. Paranoid nations don't make good allies.

Looks good. GC's not gonna like this though... But WHO CARES about them?

First post updated.

Goonie... I hate to say it, but I think it should be changed somewhat.

First, we must specify that GCA's refusal to vacate territory within our borders is considered an act of war by all members of the alliance.

Second, I don't think we should dictate the terms of the Non-aggression Pact between the two of them. That's really better left to those nations.

Third, I'd strike the entire Spoils of War paragraph and replace it with a detail of our goals in this conflict. While carving up GCA territory may be fun and the real ultimate goal, I doubt that such wording will go far to convince our neighbors that the purpose of this alliance is primarily defensive in nature. I'd suggest something a little more vague, and somewhat more attainable, while protecting our interests (see the speech in my office thread ;)).

It's a good start, but let's try to hash this out today, before we get the save.

Responded in the poll itself.
