I know this is somehow possible, but I have no clue as to how:

If I PERMANTENTLY delete a file, how do I go about retreving this permantly deleted file in windows XP.

I'm not talking about putting something in the bin and then wondering how to pull it out, but putting something in, then finishing it off, then raising it from the grave.

Norton used to be able to undelete programs.

Try going to www.webattack.com, and searching for undelete. They probably have a utility there for it.

As you know, even when you permantly delete a file from the recycle bin, it's still on your hard drive until that part of the hard drive is written with new data. The data's still there, but XP just needs to be 'told' where it's at. . .

Edit: Edited link. This should work now.

And yes, it's a very useful site. I've gotten several freeware programs there. . . works out just fine.

thanks i will try this, as a friend deleted soemthing on his computer of grave importance to us :p

(btw your link didnt work as theres a comma in it, but the site looks usefull once you take that out ;))

any more precise comments by any experts are still welcome mind you
