Just for fun, I downloaded Marla Singers world map with correct starting positions, and gave it a whirl.

I installed, followed directions to the letter, and it didnt work. The FIXED.SAV would not load, nor would any of my others.

I have lost ALL of my saved games. The read me claimed it was a scenario, but I think it must have altered my MOD.BIC somehow. Or the text file, I dont really know.

Fearing the worst, I uninstalled Civ3 and reinstalled, first the game and then the patch.

Sorry, but theres no more Teutonic Isle. The only trace of it is the save in this thread, at 1950BC.

The only good thing, it wasnt during any of my SG turns, or I would have lost them too.

Thanks for the warning. I'd downloaded the map, but hadn't had a chance to install it yet. Bummer about the game. We all know you would have won it anyway.

Ironic, though, that technically the game did turn out to be unbeatable.

So how did it all end? Did u get to beat those romans to bits and claim a new spot on the continent?

Inquiring minds want to know ;)

No, seriously, a very nice thread, with lots of screenshots! Great!:goodjob:

because seriously, i need to have some civgfx to look at while not playing ;)

You crybaby! I've started on Islands smaller than that! (See "I'm a bloodthirsty despot and proud of it" thread) The island was namely Great Britain in Marla's World Map. And I'm still alive and well.

With your isolated position, it would benefit you the most to have the other civs at war with each other. As long as you aren't in a Republic, using MPP's to pull all the other civs into a world war will eventually send them all to Communism and cripple them. Since the AI doesn't how to launch effective seaborn invasions, you'll be safe from any ensuing hostilities.

i noticed 1 thing about galleys: if u tell them to GO TO across an ocean, they wont get lost, ever! but if u move them with the numpad, they sink.

How dare you insult Persia!
