The Worst Song Cover You Can Think Of!

I also remember suddenly needing to go to the toilet or strech my legs when the Grateful Dead would launch into some Dylan Covers(not all of them) Most notably: Desolation Row, All Along The Watchtower, Queen Jane Approximately, (Stuck in side of Mobile) With Those Memphis Blues Again. Great Songs, I just didn't like the Dead's version.

I have a Grateful Dead album titled "Postcards of the Hanging" in which they do ALL Dylan coves, including the songs you mentioned above, and I actually like it. I mean, no one can really touch the original versions of these songs (except maybe Hendrix), but the Grateful Dead do them alot better than I could imagine. They are so laid back, and Jerry Garcia's guitar improvisation riffs sound great.

Yeah, Don't get be wrong, they are pretty good, but not great. I get kind of tired listening to Bob Wiers voice on some of them.

Although I thought they totally nailed "when I paint my masterpiece" Great!!! And "Baby Blue" could put a tear in my eye. And "The Mighty Quinn"... What a treat! These Versions may have been better than Dylans.;)

Actually, I think the Dead was one of the Best cover bands ever, along with the Beatles and occasionally the Stones.

One of the Coolest shows I saw was Dylan playing with the Dead. Perfect.

Stinkbombs (SuperSkunks)
I never saw it, I just made it up.

Even better! Hillbilly Hip Hop (The Beverly Hillbilles)
Featuring Granny with a backwards cap!

I think it would be the tragic death of music if Run DMC covered Aerosmith's "Walk This Way." I hope that never happens.

The barbership quartet of senators (that included John Ashcroft & Trent Lott) covering Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Saturday Night Special."

R. Kelly covering Billy Joel's "Innocent Man."

William Shatner did a hideous "spoken word" cover of Elton John's Rocket Man.

I thought we were supposed to be making them up, in which case the covers I found horrible were:

John Malvo's cover of "I shall be Released" by the Band.

John Ashcroft's cover of "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who.

Bill Clinton sings "I am an Innocent Man" by Billy Joel.

The Democratic party choir sings "We will Rock You/We are the Champions" by Queen.

The Republican party choir sings "Can't buy me love" by the Beatles.

I have to admit, as much as I hate the guy, I found Osama Bin Laden's cover of "The Rooster" by Alice in Chains to be chillingly resonating...

Sultan Bhargash covering JollyRoger's post within 27 minutes.

Don't make me bring Chairman Yang to this thread. His rendition of "America the Beautiful" is pretty bad.

Clinton is more notorious for Weird Al Yankovich-like parodies than covers. His "Porn in the USA", a parody of Springsteen's "Born in the USA", is a classic damnation of the Starr report.

just seen the worst cover ever 'Come together' covered by graig david he totally ruined a brilliant song
I saw that. What the hell was he thinking?!? Did he wake up one morning and say "hmm...what classic song can I ruin today?".

Can't remember whwether it was Gareth Gates or Will Somefinkorother, but that version of The Door's "Light my Fire".

The worst possible tracks are when a pop band takes a great rock and or roll track and completly sanitize it. Like that version of "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Louise was it?

i know that michael bolton made a cover of like a rolling stone. i will problary rather die than hear that song.

The Soundtrack to "Dude where's my war". Featuring Bush, Hussein, and Laden both in the movie and the soundtrack.

Buy now, and get the bonus track (Saddam and Osama singing "I will survive")

Fake one? :hmm:

Slayer's Angel of Death done by those Gregorian Chanters would be pretty horrible.

First off I have to say that the worst cover I ever heard was American Pie by Madonna...

The worst cover I probably could hear would be that dumbass Linkin Park band doing any song that was original, creative, and musically rich.

Best cover I ever heard: Toploader doing Dancing in the Moonlight-Johnny Cash doing Solitary Man...

Back to a real song...

Yummy Yummy Yummy, I have love in my Tummy... I don't remember who did it, and frankly, I don't want to remember. ;)
