"This deal cannot currently be canceled"?

Just started playing BTS.

I want to liven it up by declaring war on my neighbour Kubli Khan. However each time I click on ending the Peace Treaty it tells me "This deal cannot currently be canceled"

It has (10 turns) written beside the the Peace Treaty. I waited 10 turns and tried again but no luck.

I even demanded 6 gold per turn off him to incite but no dice, he just happily accepted. Even if i try to take the agreement back i get the above message. I mean its HIS money, I'm just trying to cancel the agreement!

Any ideas?

wait a while, cancel the money per turn, wait a bitm ore, and the peace treaty should go away.

Also i'm wondering why kublai khan hasn't declared on you yet!

You sure 10 turns passed by? Peace treaties are unbreakable for 10 turns, after which a message pops up warning you that it has expired -- you are then able to start your little war against the little bastards.

Perhaps posting this in the tech support along with a save game will prove useful. But are you SURE 10 turns have gone by? That's odd... =\

AFAIK, any tech trade (even demands) force a 10 turn peace treaty.

So, if you're in the habit of demanding tribute only to turn around and attack on the same turn after receiving it, you'll have to start waiting 10 turns after the tribute to begin your war.

It's not the money part you can't cancel ... it's the appended 10-turn Peace Treaty you inadvertently offered in return.

If you're trying to wage war on someone, don't demand anything or begin any trades within 10 turns before your projected assault.

hmm, maybe not - because now I'm at war!

I must not have counted to 10 correctly...

i would have thought that the 10 turn display would have counted down though. I guess you just have to keep track of the turns.
