I get so freakin' annoyed when I suddenly find an enemy city plonked somewhere in the middle of my continent, and then they wonder why I surround it!
Can't wait for Civ 3, even if it's just for it's

I think it would be neat if instead of viewing the little world map covered with little city dots of your Civilizations' hue, you could instead see your sovereign territory painted entirely in your color - like a real map.

I like that idea, it's be cool having 90% of the map Orange then with a tiny slither handed over to the Americans!

Would be rather satisfying seeing how mauch of the world you really have conquered.

Also (and i know this is more suited to the Civ 3 discussion section, but while I'm on the subject) you should be able to move around up and down to go around the world if you see what I mean. Over the North Pole for instance to get to Canada from Russia, but only with certain techs of course!

You can do that in CTPII. But I still prefer the Donut World. There used to be a big discussion about that, and I think it ended with the donut world in favour.

National Boarders. I hope that you can see them on the ground. it will be blue on your side of the line diving the tile, and red on the other. its my Fav feature and the ONLY reason I am gonna buy Civ III {if my comp will work with it, pent2-200!} now instead of a year from now when its cheaper

ALL HAIL THE NATIONAL BOARDERS OF THE MIGHTY WEIMAR_REPUBLIC!!!

If they set it up like SMAC, you'll see the borders right on the game map.

Well, its a pain too cause I love plopping cities close to enemy cities as a fort for arming and a checkpoint for defense.

What? You sincerely mean you don't like it when the computer decide to set up a nice little city SMACK in your country, hampering your travel routes and generally doing something which would be tantamount to a declaration of war "IRL" ( ohh hey, I'll just borrow this here patch of land from you and settle in it, alright? ). The border thingy is about the only reason I actually ever played SMAC, and I liked it. I will be looking forward to seeing it again in Civ3

Frankly I tend to do this more than the AI does it to me, so I will evidently have to adapt to the new "Border" concepts.

DEATH awaits you all...with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

It just kind of disturbs my "sense of logic" or whatnot. Then again, historically seen it is not ENTIRELY unpossible for a large nation to support a smaller one in or near enemy territories, say like the US in Korea and Vietnam and such...

i just hope they dont make em like in alpha centauri, were you can really slice and dice the ai territory by building cities near borders. coz that really sux.
