It must be time to go back to uni soon, I am playing a ridiculous amount of civ at the moment. Just submitted my 4th game for the week, 3 of them have filled multiple big gaps each, the 4th was just a tiny cheiftain run at diplomacy. But 100k at deity or sid is missing entirely from the HoF, and 100k is the only victory type I don't think I've ever gotten (histographic too, but I consider that a victory without getting a victory type). So time to aim for a high level 100k. I'd prefer to pick an offbeat civ, but I suspect the challenge will be hard enough already. Germans are tempting, as panzers are very nice, and my first ever sid win was a german spaceship, but I think religious is a must have for short revolutions.

630BC as Korea. Between me and the AI we only got 2 techs at the start of the middle age, which cost me 4 turns, and only 2 at the start of the Industrial, but the one we missed was nationalism, so no worries. Got every single tech from the start of the middle age on in 4 turns, with Flight & Electronics from ToE. So there's no improvement possible there, a bit more luck with free techs would make 550BC, and the only other place to improve is how quick I finish the Ancient Age.

Hi Sanabas,

are you sure it's BC and not AD? You state with more luck it would be 550BC and not 630BC but that's actually worse not better

Now, THAT's a game I gotta see! :)
Not on my watch. ;)
It was ad. At least according to my 'crystal ball'.

Yes, all the civ has done strange things to my brain. Sorry, my tyop. 630AD, more luck with techs at the start of the middle age would make 550, possibly it could be improved a couple of turns by getting through the AA quicker. If I do it again I'll keep exact track of what techs I get when.

As for Deity 100k, eep. I think early deity conquest is going to be the best option, and then go hard for culture instead of trying to milk. Never milked a game, and rarely go for early conquest, that was the actually the last game I submitted to try something different for me. My first couple of attempts were India, Large pangea map, Deity, no barbarians and expansionist opponents. That one is a write off as a 100k game, but I think I can turn it into a 20k or diplo win, provided I can stay alive.

2nd was Celts, small archipalego, Deity, with Zulu, Mongol and Aztecs. Again, no barbs. Got the temple of Artemis, and cranked out the cities like mad, and I am still only 2nd in culture, and falling behind the mongols. Decided to drop the difficulty and try similar tactics, and it's working well.

Celts, Tiny Acrhipelago, Monarch, with Zulu, Mongol and Aztecs. Built the temple, cranked out the settlers, and I'm now at approx 15k culture, and 234cpt. Nearest culture rival is under 4k. I won't research education, my island is impregnable until somebody else gets amphibious warfare, which is unfortunately costing a lot of money, I think I probably should change to Monarchy. If I hit return 200 times, I'll get a 100k win around turn 400. Similar tactics should work on emperor, possibly demigod, but I think the AI moves too fast for it to work on Deity.
