Too many cities!!

Well crap

I just started over because my last game said I had too many cities. Although I could still conquer and 'keep' enemy cities I could no longer start any of my own

I had a 137% CIVII ranking and could have continued playing it out but I didn't realize there was a limit to how many cities you could build or I would have chosen more wisely my city locations.

Is this just a playstation dilemma or is there really a limit to your number of cities (playing Prince if that helps any)

Its a programming limit.256 total cities(for all civs including barbs) are the maximum.

You can build more if you destroy some.Just never more than 256 can be in a game.

Ahh, so when I destroy an enemy city at size one then I'm able to create another of my own (or rebuild that one if at a good location)

Thanks that adds a whole new dimension to the game (for me that is lol!)

A.F.A.I.K. the playstation limit is 128 cities.

You know, I recall reading many moons ago that the city limit for the playstation version is a paltry 128 cities.

I actually know nothing about playstation, but recall reading the same as Andu Indorin, that playstation allowed less cities than the PC game.

I think that is probably true.256 on a PS would make turns go on for days....
