:( When my girlfriend tries to save her game on TOT nothing happens game is not saved , I have looked for the folder in the corresponding folder an have not found any saved games. Can someone please help with this issue??

Can you save games to folders in your user profile, as opposed to Program Files?

Not sure what you mean by user profile and where that would be located:confused: unfortunatly still somewhat of a neewbie here ........ have found out that the game is saveable on my laptop but yet wont save on the girlfriends.. when I loaded it onto her computer I made sure to run it in compatability mode ...hmmmm thinking of trying to uninstall from hers, copy the game to a flash drive from mine and reinstalling that way and yes have the disc for the game bought it for her for X-mas.... she has windows 7 thats why I ran the compatability mode on hers as well as mine I have XP. :goodjob: THANKS for the response will try what I suggested here and keep tabs with the reponses I get as well as with what happens when I reinstall it.

:D Thanks for the response to this question Catfish :goodjob: :king: after uninstalling and reinstalling and changeing the compatability mode my girlfriend is now able to save her games. :D

For example, a location like Users/UserName/My Documents. For security reasons, some users do not have the write permission on the Program Files directory. Most new games save game files to the user profile; older games are more likely to save files to their installation directories (often Program Files). I don't install any of my games in Program Files, but instead in a folder called Games in the root directory.
uninstalling and reinstalling...
That probably did the trick.
..and changeing the compatability mode
I've never needed to run ToT in compatibility mode on Win7.

In order to get ToT to load and save games I had to change the permissions on the Test of Time folder itself. They were not set to allow read/write. Right click on the Test of Time folder, click the security tab then change all of the permissions to allow if not already set. I have Windows 7 64bit and Civilization Chronicles. I also have the original ToT CD around here somewhere. :p
