Just a quick check of the trade screens, there are a lot of potential trades. Here are some examples:

Tokugawa will give us at least 5gpt for bananas.
Monty will give us at least 10gpt for seafood.
Incas will give us spices for cows. A trade of 2 resources for 2 is also possible, their other available resource is corn.

Should we cultivate some trade relationships with the other continent civs?

I haven't even looked at techs, going to sleep now...

We get something for nothing, that's allways a good bargain. I see no negative effect.

I support all trades, and they will be important for diplomatic moves later. Sign them all.

All of those trades would be very good for us, and also looking at the Roman screen they are still willing to trade with us despite cancelling deals last session. We can give them two health resources in exchange for furs and 4 gpt. Also we can open borders with them, allowing us to do some scouting before a potential war with them.

I agree to the Roman trade, and we need to do it now. 10 turns is all we need to line up a decent invasion force. Scouting inside Roman Borders is essential with Open Borders.

Okay, I'll instruct Coppertown to build missionaries for intelligence :)
