I'm now upgrading my RoM and AND...

I uninstall the old AND (1.53) and then deleted the Rise of Mankind Folder on the Mods folder of BTS. Then I put the new RoM folder there, and installed the latest AND (1.71).

Everything runs okay when I load the mod... choose to create a new game etc... but then when it's generating this new game... after some time... it just stuck then this message appears.

The uninstaller does not always work properly. It is safer to rename your old Rise of Mankind folder. Then install the correct version of RoM, apply RoM patches, then install AND over this. Since I am doing this sort of thing often after I get the correct RoM in place I make a copy of that directory so it is available for the next version of AND or RoM patches and go from there.

Hey I made some more tests and seems that isn't a problem of RoM itself but just of Giant and Gigantic Maps because all maps excluding those, works. So it might be a memory problem? But that's not right because I've been playing with big maps in 2.8 version and even played with a Gigantic map. So I want a way to fix that or at least know which the problem is... That image I posted should help you guys.

Please help! I love Giant Maps!

I have the same problem and i am almost certain that this is a lack of ram problem. Try playing on a continents map or something, cus maps like perfect wold and similar are much harder for your ram to handle. But i remember that there used to be a thread on how to give civ4 more ram to use.
Cheers

Thanks Jank!

I'm using perfect world 2, so I think that this is it.... a memory problem. Anyway why this new version uses much more RAM? Because I was able to play on Gigantic maps before... and now even on Giant I can't.

Anyway thanks very much! If anyone can send to me that thread about how to give more ram to use, please do.

Thanks

Where I turn off ethnic units? Even liking that I lot... well, I prefer Giant maps.

I think you just remove the folders in the "Modules\Custom ArtStyles" folder.
