I have been playing Tropico, and I'm near to know the whole way it works. However, there is still a detail I am not sure about. Each citizen can have one of 3 levels of education (none, institute, university) and each building requires workers of a certain level of studies or higher. But, is it possible that some buildings also require their workers to be of a certain sex? I noticed when I begin a game that no matter how many times I fire a certain woman with university studies from fams and working camps she would never go to work to the palace as a soldier; but when I build an inmigration office and fire her again she took the work available there at the first chance. I suspect the sex is the reason, but I would like to be sure, and if I am correct I would like a list.

Sex does matter...

You'll never see a female soldier...sorry I don't have a list of other occupations that this is the case with.

Great game...shame about your people lacking "jeeps" and the programming to USE your road. El Presidente, the people...

This game is pretty cool, and yes sex does matter (equal rights anyone?? ;) )

There are some good guides available at www.gamefaqs.com
