I have been playing Civ IV on a PC, and the game installed and worked fine on that machine. However, when installing the game on my laptop, I consistently see the following error at the very end of installation:

Since the game installed fine on the PC, I don't think the CD is a problem. Strangely enough, the game does play on my laptop despite this error, and performs well. However, the operating system (Windows XP) does not recognize the game as installed, and thus does not allow me to install patches and other additions to the game. I have no clue as to what could be causing this problem, so any help would be much appreciated.
