So. Windows got corrupted on my hard drive and I don't know how to do a windows restore without erasing what is on the drive.
To solve the problem I bought a new hard drive and am using the old one for storage. I'm now up to the F drive.
I have tried re-installing Civ4, Warlords and BtS, all to no avail. I get various python errors or fatal errors when I try to boot. Out of the box: doesn't work. With all the installed patches and BUFFY: still doesn't boot. Colonization works out of the box FWIW.
I get a 'Python24.dll not found' error when trying to boot up BtS. I can provide more specific error messages if this isn't an obvious general problem.
Why can't I install Civ on my new F: drive? Any help would be appreciated.
The best solution would be a link to explain how to do a windows restore on my old drive and start booting from that again, but so far nothing I've seen for that is really helpful.
