Did I say something wrong?

"FLIC Images
Hello everyone!!

It's good to be here, as you can see I am new, just signed up, but I hang around the Apolyton forums alot.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask if anyone here knows of a editor/viewer I can use to modify the .FLC images in Civ III. I am not too experianced at editing, but I want to make one scenario so I would like to learn . . .

Thnx in advance!"

hi Timeline, I am not sure why your previous post was closed. It was prolly because you posted that post in the wrong forum. The Finished Files forum is only for... finished files. Other creation discussions and requests belong in the main creation forum.

Don't know why your thread got closed.

As far as I know the .flc files unfortunately are in a non-standard flc-format, which Firaxis are about to fix, so that the files can be edited with standard animation software. Hopefully they'll add the option of playing with "still" civ2 style units, as well. Which will probably speed up the game significantly too, I s'pose. I hope so.

Well I posted in this forum that we're in now . . .

Seems like it would have moved rather than closed. It would be funny if someone thought "flic" was a swear word or something.

Only the default flc compression is broken, so you could create new .flc files that use a non-default compression. You just need to figure out what size and colors etc you should use.... Try a few times I guess :D

Can ya recommend a program I try all this in??

Is Photoshop a good graphics program? Can it edit .TGA and .PCX files? But not .FLC right?

Please give me any info you can!!
