enjoy. Recommended highly ! no fluff.
I am a big fan of Filthy myself. However, his perspective is almost always the 6 player FFA game. This is a very different game from the single player game that we play in GotM. There are also more recent, and in my opinion, more accurate guides available nowadays. If you want to check it out, I suggest that you have a look at PCJLaw. For example his guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2wdOdkTcA4 on the early game.

I have this video on my drive. I also watched a lot of PCJLaw and agree with you.
I am a life-long war gamer. Used to be with friends, now solo.
I don't want a guide on how to play, as much as I want to know the rules so I can figure it out for myself.
Filthy provided me with the framework. I dont play his game but I could bring his work and his understanding into my own gameplay style.
That's why i dont mind reading these threads before I play. Doesnt effect my own game.
But I am always learning.
The best thing about civ is everything. Amazing game. The worst is the time it takes me to play it. Real life has many calls on my time these years.

Hey all - I can't post the next game's announcement thread because the map isn't ready yet, but the settings will be: Immortal, Poland, Continents, Standard size and speed, Domination victory.

I'll try to post the thread with the screenshot tomorrow, sorry for the delay.

Dom Victory T 441. Whew that was a long and fun game! But it didn't seem long. I'm amazed at how much easier (and more enjoyable) long treks across the world are when you have time to do it and your units don't obsolete before you get there.

- Did you play peacefully or warlike? Did you use your UU? -- Not a shot fired :satan:.

- What technologies did you prioritize? -- Should have prioritized Astronomy sooner than I did. I didn't anticipate it being as easy to take cities as it was.

- What Social Policies did you choose and in what order? Which Ideology did you choose? -- Full Tradition, a little Patronage. I don't know why I didn't think of opening Honor, this is the perfect game for it.

- How many cities did you have in the end and where did you settle them? -- Four self founded cities, the 4th was probably a mistake - Cologne on the east coast. I thought I might need it to build ships but ships weren't necessary.

Picking up from Opening Actions, Vienna was captured T298; what a terrible city. At least it had two improved unique luxuries so that makes it worth it.
Spoiler T298 Vienna :

T328 captured Rio. Oops, I didn't realize I had a DoF with them. Did I? It says I made a DoF with the same leaders but no mention of Backstab and no one is mad at me. I do have DoF with William and Napoleon. Why the heck are the DoF durations negative I wonder, how do I tell when they're going to be over? (Looked it up and turns out the game gets confused on marathon speed. They should end at -100). Waited for the DoF's to be over and then took Amsterdam and Paris.

But I still haven't found the other continent. I sent my Athens army west because it seemed the most likely place to look, but there's nothing there but a few small islands. My army scatters in all directions trying to find it; where the heck is it?? Was it all just a tall tale?

Finally, after wandering around the ocean for a thousand years trying to find the lost continent of the old fables, braving the pirates, a half-dead CB limps up to the shore of an unknown land. And there he is - an emissary from the great Khan himself. The Athens army converged on Mongolia. Genghis had already captured Rome and it was a measly 13 defense so my range and logistics promoted CB took it down easily. Then liberated a Roman city just for the heck of it. And on T441, Karakorum falls to the great German empire and the world is ours!
