Maybe stupid question, but, when you discover dynamite, is it going to be possible to make tunnels through mountains? And if it's not included, I think they should enable it, it's realistic. It's stupid that in modern age, mountain chains are problem to get around:mischief:.

I tend to agree but at the strategic level that is being considered it still is quite a major issue to move people across mountains by land. Consider that is a huge bottle-neck that simply needs to have one end closed off to be made impassable and your troops stranded.

I do wish/hope that eventually specially trained units are able to cross a mountain pass to either ambush or delay the enemy while the main force goes around.

In Civ5 terms a mountain pass would be a hex of flat land or a hill in a chain of mountain hexes. There's no diagonal movement anymore like in Civ4, where a unit could cross a one tile-wide mountain chain diagonally.

perhaps a compromise of dynamite making it just as fast to put improvements on hills and forests. Mountains are to strategic to be destroyed or ignored halfway in the game.

Perhaps when Carthage is included in a dlc/expansion they can have a special ability to pass over mountains with some health loss. It would be kind of similar to Iroquois.

It would be nice for some specialized units to be able to cross mountains. After all, it is only one unit per tile (not huge stacks of armies), so it's totally possible. After all, people have been fighting in the mountains since the dawn of man!

I think that tunnels should be included for all units. How could state like Austria transport their armies without tunnels? Maybe dynamite is too early. I think that first tunnels as we know today(few kilometars long) were built somewher in 50's or 60's, I don't know. Maybe, when you come to Modern area, all units could pass mountains.

I didn't mean destroy mountains, it's almost impossible to tear down hole mountain:rolleyes:. I was thinking about tunnels that go through mountains.

And that Carthage's special ability looks like a good idea:goodjob:.
