This turn saw the beginning of our new settlement initiative, as we strive to double the size of our nation. Shen Ling produced a Settler, which is on the way to "New" Yun Feng and will probably arrive there before our roadworkers.

In other news, CGN called up offering Theology but we need to decide what to offer. Putting up the gold for this tech would conflict with a few other things we have brewing, but I am opening a separate thread for that. Perhaps Cheetah can get CGN on the horn and see what they would want from us.

Poly did not send Silks this turn and regretted the error. Gaining this Luxury will allow our cities to grow to Size 6 without entertainers. And adding a Marketplace would allow a city to grow to Size 8 unhindered by discontent. We should get it next turn.

In other Poly news, we have sent another 35g to them in honor of the pending "gold for tech" agreement we are working on. I will be opening a separate thread on this matter so that we can all discuss this before it becomes official. They will discover Invention in 4 turns.

To gain perspective, I actually adjusted the slider and found that we would make -1gpt at 50% science and would discover Invention ourselves in 24 turns. That's about a 1200g expenditure for the tech if we research it on our own, not to mention the length of time. More on this when I open the thread.

Back to Shen Ling.........

After our capital produced its settler, this is the queue that popped up. Its a perfect cycle of "growth in four, Settler in four." After this, the city would be Size 4 but would recoup quickly if we lean on the Game tiles for growth.

After this Settler is cut loose, I would like to see a Marketplace built here.

And here goes the current Settler on his way through the mountains to reinstate the city of Yun Feng to its former glory. This Settler will be the first of six to settle our Eastern side.

I currently have the city of Yun Qiuling staged to build a Galley, but would like to discuss the prospects of building a Settler here. This city is our only harbor city on the lake, but it is also poised for rapid growth.

So, what do you think? Galley or Settler?

Speaking of Yun Qiuling, see the three workers on the hill? OK, and a Pike for protection.... ;)

I just put all three of them on the task of mining that hill and guess how long our Industrious workers will take to complete the task?

Long Live the Republic! :D

Cloudy that day, eh? :p

About that CGN trade. I posted about it in the Netatolian embassy two days ago. But noone has responded! They would want to hear an offer from us.

IMO settler instead of Galley in Yun Qiuling.

Looks much better than 10 turns ago. :D

Wow, DZ did a better job at prezzy than I did. Well, I'm back, and by the look of things, sorry to take the glory from the people replacing me.

If our military is weaker than the other intact nations, they would never notice if we disbanded non-upgrading units like medieval infantry if we need the cash. I mean, 33% of our budget goes to the army.

Hmm... good point. MI's are almost useless now as we can get Riders...:) I support the idea. :)

Would we realy save that much on disbanding units? I can accept disbanding them, but that would be if our military was a bit stronger than it is now.

They only cost one gold. I wouldn't advise disbanding our MIs for now. If anything we can use them to keep GCA from landing in the mountains and hills. Plus they still pack a powerful punch.

Plus if we disband them to add to military production, I think all we would get is like 10 shields. So, all in all, I would keep them to bolster our border cities. We can even send some to the island.

Don't sell yourself short, GBM. You have done an outstanding job as President. :) I now gladly and respectfully return the reigns to you, and will be available to play at your request.

Sending troops to the islands is a good idea.
