Actualy, Med Inf can be upgraded to the Gurella unit in the Industrial Age.

Time will tell, Hygro. I still think that the MI will be a great unit to use in tandem with defensive units for our cities, as it will stand of good chance of successfully countering attacks from even Cavalry. The defending unit(Pike or better) absorbs the blow and then lets the MI dispose of any redlined aggressors.

As long as we stay on good terms with Poly, we should have until Navigation to implement a protection system for our coastal cities. And I believe that the MI could be a huge factor in meeting this goal.

Yes, IMHO we shouldn't disband them if theyt cost only 1 gold... in C3C it would be 3 IIRC, and then it could be worth it, but not now.
