Yet another turn played today! Let me get us up to speed from the previous discussion.

I think that I may have convinced Gainy Bo that we should road and mine the NW grassland first, so that our second Warrior can use that road to reach the NW mountain on its first turn. In three turns, our first Warrior should head two tiles east to that mountain.

I believe that this is our quickest means of expolation for both areas, and I can't wait to discover what lies beyond those mountains. Please post your thoughts.

Here is the 3800 BC screenshot:

Yeah, regardless of if we road the tile it will still take the warrior two turns to reach the mountain (river crossing, and we lack engineering). I agree that is the tile we should head for, but my thoughts are that we road it with moving our future settler faster (by going one more northwest).

My bad. I meant the tile NW of Fanatazuma. In other words, our worker should head due north once he completes the mine and the road on his current tile.

Is everyone okay with our first Warrior exploring the East first? At first glance this area looks the most like land's end, and I would like to confirm that as soon as possible.

I agree on both points. :)

Yes. That is exactly what should be done. :)

And afterwards the worker could mine and road the tile SE of Fanatazuma, before eventualy moving to the tobacco tile to mine and road.

I also agree :)

One thing though
And afterwards the worker could mine and road the tile SE of Fanatazuma, before eventualy moving to the tobacco tile to mine and road.

I disagree with this - unless you're meaning really long term. I feel after the NW tile has been worked, the forest should then be chopped. This would then hasten the building of a Granary (after our first settler :)) and (hopefully) reveal some bonus grassland. If not, then we should then build a road to our next city and then work it's surrounding area.

Actually, if we chopped down th Forest directly after working the NW tile, we may finish the task too early. However, why don't we move the Granary before the Settler in the build queue? This will allow several things:

* Quicker replenishment of city pop after the Settler is built.

* A short period of Size 3 production should get the Granary done faster.

* Timely use of our Forest while we are still in the area, then we can mine/road one more tile(maybe that one) and start our road net.

Of course if we do this, we will have to call back both Warriors to keep our citizens in line. But it may be worth it. What do you think?

The good news is that our immediate plans are set for the next 10 turns. Once our Warriors get a better lay of the land, we can get a better idea of what to do next.

Thanks to everyone for your input. :)

Arg, I forgot we were industrious. I would prefer if we built the settler first. It would be more beneficial IMO, but i'm not ademant. Both ways have their ups and downs.

*looks for other opinions*

I'm on the fence about a granary vs settler. how about we wait and see
