We received the save this afternoon at 4:12pm EDT. Although it will fall just beyond the 4 hour window granted us each turn, I intend to conduct the turn chat this evening during the previously scheduled strategy chat.

All Fanatikou citizens are encouraged to attend.

When is this chat?

f1 advisor has not reported the new science change.

Have we told GCA that we WILL NOT tolerate anymore trespassers on our lands? Or are we still trying to hide from them?

What about "connect the horse ASAP"? With it we could build a force of Horsemen as soon as we develop the Horseback Riding tech able to reply to any threat from GCA fastly, unlike the 1 movement swordsmen.

Good work with the science rate 40J!

We're not making any demands, nor are we hiding from them. I think we know exactly where their 3 units are on our side and I haven't seen any sign of aggression yet.

They've got one warrior stationed next to each of the iron sources and a spearman stationed in front of Balance of Power. They're pretty much spying on our development at this point. Unfortunately, we're not in much of a position to make demands just yet.

Here's the scary part. If our settler moves past the gold hill en route to the iron site, and then GCA suddenly advances on us, our settler will be stuck in between locations and will have to waste even more time retreating to a suitable city site location. We may wish to reconsider settling on the gold hill....

Horsemen are on the way, but not immediately. There will be some time before we develop that tech and since chariots have a little difficulty crossing mountains, there's no rush in connecting the horses just yet. Besides, we will need that bonus grassland mined if we are to maximize our production in Shen Ling once we grow to size 5 again. Then, we can get to work connecting the horses and building roads to the incense.

Thanks, but it wasn't all my doing. I just proposed it and everyone in attendance at the chat pretty much voted it in unanimously.

It does now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I guess it didn't update last night with the rest of the pages.:crazyeye:

GET THE GOLD HILLS; IGNORE THAT IRON!

This iron obsession is going to be the death of us.

I agree that a city that could use both the golden hill and the golden mountain could be the commerce heaven.

But, on the other hand, we desperately need iron to upgrade all our warriors, even if we don't have enough money to do it. We need the iron anyway to build a sizeable force of swordsmen, and the of riders and medieval infantry, the three being great units.

We must get Iron at all costs

why is that civ general? All costs? I think you are being too narrowminded. Going for iron at all costs will destroy our empire. If we get the iron before we get that gold, we'll likely end up being so far behind we'll be fighting pikemen with our swordsmen, and they will have knights against our spearmen.

We need to get to that Iron before anyone elts strikes clame, Would you want the GCA to get it before we do?

If they went for the iron, they'd ave a corrupt city not helping them.

By the time they get a road back home, we have enough horsemen or archers to take the city, and then we have iron, an army, and a raod to the GCA.

They would hurt themselves going for our iron.

Its true CG, it is not logical for them to do it.

So with this recomdation you still claim we aren't running. After we let GCA trapse all over our territory, we now let them threaten our development by blocking the one resource we all agreed we needed to get (especially to fight GCA). Now we are cowering back to plan B in hopes we won't get hurt by the big bullies  . Why don't we ask GCA what we should next?

1. The gold city will be placed a short time after the iron city.

2. If GCA attacks us, their rep will be damaged.

3. We won't have any more reasons to hide from them if they do attack. But we will have a definite direction to head in as far as production...

4. We should have taken care of this problem a long time ago (the GCA problem). Now we need protection for the Settler just to place a city in our own backyard. This is getting rediculous. "Oh, please CGA, can we place a city now?"

the iron wont be useful to us unless we have lots of money. So lets collect now.

However we mustn't lower science or we fall behind the tech race. therefore we need more commerce. GOLD
