Turn 65 - 1400 BC

Maybe we should think about starting horseback riding. That way we can progress towards a tech deal with Apolyton. They'll just have to wait for Construction like we did with Mathematics.

Yeah this lack of math is really good for our treasury but sucks for our situation :(

Yes, we have horses! In fact, while riding in my personal chariot, pulled by my team of prized stallions the other day, my entourage and I happened across a deserter from the GCA forces who had fled because he had heard what great times we were having in Shen Ling... all that food, all that procreation.... :D

By the way... just for a head's up to all Fanatikou citizens....

There is a hot topic of debate going on in the UN at the moment concerning the penalty (if any) for a team reaching 0 hours on their turn clock. We may have to conduct a poll in here concerning the adoption of sanctions against teams that take persistently take too long on their turns.

For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about... Each team is alloted 100 hours at the beginning of the game to conduct their turns. Each turn the teams are given 4 additional hours. From the moment that the previous team posts in the UN that the turn is sent, your team is "on the clock" which is why we cannot have scheduled turn chats in the MSDG. We need to play the save and move it along ASAP at all times.

The new improved turn clock has been made available for all and we are shown as having only 61 hours remaining. However, I have examined the file used to track our time remaining, and have found significant discrepancies - as much as 81 hours! I'm not saying we should have 81 hours. I'm saying we should have at least 117 hours, or as much as 142 hours remaining at this point!

I have already submitted the appeal for our nation and hope to have our clock adjusted accordingly.

@ 40J - So what did you wind up doing with that deserter? I would hope that after some good dining and a little procreation ;) , he is sent to Yun Feng to garrison there. That way if his friends decide to attack, he can be the first to face them. :goodjob:

Also, excellent work with the timeclock! Someone needs to keep an eye on those guys from the UN. :)

An excellent suggestion Cyc. Once he has been fed and rested, we shall immediately send him to the front to assist in the mining of that all-important iron ore.

We don't want the world to start thinking that you can cross our borders and get all the food and drink you like without working for it, now do we?

Where is the appeal, I tried to find it, but was unable to locate it.

I wrote an e-mail to miccofl... I didn't want to go public just yet.

Update: Our hours have been updated and and most of my corrections have already been put through. There is still one issue pending that may or may not work in our favor. If it does, it would add another 24 to 31 hours to our total.

Update #2: I've reviewed the turn counter file and it looks like we'll receive either 7 or 31 more hours depending on how our appeal goes. Specifically, there was an instance long ago in which we had trouble getting the save to GWT. I'm arguing that the problem may not have been our fault. If it turns out that I'm correct, bingo... another 31 hours to our total. If not, then so be it... only 7 more added back. It's definitely worth the effort to try though.

Elucidia's not trading is giving me doubts over their trustworthyness.

What if Gamecatcher & Elucidia have decided to split our lands between them and have arranged a deal with Apolyton to keep out of it?

That would explain Gamecatcher's cocky confidence, why they are refusing to leave the iron and why Elucidia are not trading us Mathematics.

Or maybe I'm just paranoid...

...what are our Foreign Ambassadors doing? Shouldn't we have had word by now about why they haven't accepted the trade?

Its all too quiet...

It is a very real possibility, but I believe that Elucidia wouldn't be to keen on that idea, because our lands are of very little use to them. I am talking to Zargon, and we are actually in the midst of setting up a chat day that works for both of us.

I believe they haven't accpeted the trade because they don't have Mathematics.

JUST? We could have beat them to it AGES ago then! I think they were being dishonost in the number of turns left to research it.

Yes indeed Hygro... A point that has not been missed on me. I too am extremely unhappy about recent events on the tech trading front.
