Ryttylä finished a warrior. I fortified it, and it now started building a temple as pre-build for a galley or a harbour. Map Making will be done in 8 turns at the present, and a 30 shield production takes 8 turns also, but in 3 turns Ryttylä will have grown.

There was some discussion about Zoi. I let it use the two cow squares for now, so that it'll be size three next turn; seemed the best to me.

Now unit movement. First of all, our curragh found a C3B settler, defended by a warrior. They're building new cities towards us. :undecide:

The javalin thrower and the warrior switched places. I just realised it might've been better to keep the warrior there in case the javalin thrower gets heavily damaged. But alas, too late for that.

Finally, back home again, the two settlers are on their spot to build new cities next turn. :) Still no barbarian appeared next to the javalin thrower. I thought it might've been better to attack, but had the feeling you all still have hope new barbarians might show up, so I didn't.

Notice the barbarian galley is gone (in the fog). After I ended my turn the barbarian galley attacked our curragh!! But we lost no hitpoints. :yeah:

The two workers in the southeast did as akots suggested.

Here's a nice panorama picture. ;)

Do you guys think that our building of two cities will help us against C3B in the victory standings? (World Area and Population %)

The choke point city is mostly a needed thing to do. Not much of a use, just fixing a strategic point. The other city might be productive in the long run.

@Matrix: Do you think prebuild in Rytty is too early to start? We can build another warrior there.

Still, looks like sharing a cow of Zoi with another city might be an option. There is too much food there for a town without granary and some corruption. To make an optimal growth out of it, since it need 20 food in the bin, one cow would be free for several turns. IIRC, Cheetah made it to work the forest for a turn or two. Hence, the uneven food in the bin.

Looks ok... let's hope we get a worker in the east... :)

If C3B is settling towards us, we should also settle in the Eastern areas...

Well, when it has grown it might still have four shields because of corruption, and in that case we can continue; it'll fit perfectly. The turn player needs to make sure to press F1 after choosing the next tech and switch Ryttylä's production.

If there won't be corruption, building a warrior first would be best, otherwise we'll loose 5 shields.

I think we should use the food bonus to the max here, and keep the cows irrigated, we can use the forests available for shields... we really are a little low on food bonuses, to speak the truth...

Thanks for playing the save Matrix. :)

Would building a granary in Zoi and letting it grow to size 5-6 be worth it when it comes to Settler production? If so we should consider getting that Granary up.

What shall we name the cities next turn?

And future Settlers? Seeing as C3B is expanding south, I think we should send every second Settler east, and the others to the island.

Oh, yeah, we need names for those cities... And my head is empty like... emptyness...

I still like Charnel. It sounds so idyllic, but has such a different meaning... :D

But for the land bridge city I'd say Khazâd-dûm. But I've found different spellings:
Khazâd-dûm
Khazad-dûm
Kazad-dûm
Kazad-dum

Hows about Mordor? :)

@Cheetah: I'm afraid it is a little bit late for the granary in Zoi. We can always cash-rush it after revolting to Monarchy which is not that far away IMO. Or whip a few shields. It might be tricky to time a forest chop there around our new city to be built 2 tiles west from TF but may be possible if that new city (no name yet there as well) would be set to a wonder or small wonder and the forest is still in the 21-tile radius of Zoi. But this still does not eliminate an extra food problem. We cannot obviously let it grow beyond size 5 without a temple which would mean 30% luxury rate. And temple+granary is way too much.

Regarding sending settlers to the east: We should try to revolt to Monarchy as soon as possible so that we can get our agricultural food bonus in all cities which we dearly miss because of Despotism. Then, we can use that slight extra growth for settler production. For now, we have a seafaring civilization in the game which already has Map Making (?) and two other rivals there (?) who apparently are substantially more advanced than we are. If we don't grab that island soon, they might claim it as their own rather easily. Indeed, they may be settling there already and popping free techs out of the huts. And we must agree that tobacco fields even if settled would bring us little benefit because cities there would be hopelessly corrupt. And also, iron is much more valuable than tobacco. Medieval Infantry is a decent unit after all, if we survive to that.

I was never arguing that we should send all our Settlers to the east, I was just saying that we should send some of our Settlers east in addition to the ones we send to the island.

Perhaps akots is right... we should build 2 or 3 cities on the island ASAP... after that we can settle the east maybe...

@Matrix: Khazâd-dûm is the one I think sounds best.. let's us it. :)

Charnel... uh. Well, not realy like a nice name... would be better for a wartime blockade city or something. :p

Republic not Monarchy!

I can play certainly, but need some time to figure out where to send it and what to do with it and how to post about it, etc. So, if Matrix can play then go ahead. Need some time to understand the stuff. :)

Besides, have to register in the UN which takes some time.

Edited: I am positively having some problems registering with UN.
