Tutorial help with the Civ 4 Gold Edition

I need some help. I have read that the only way for the tutorial to be on the main menu screen is if you only install Civ 4 and not the expansion packs. Well, that's just the thing I'm having a hard time with. Could anyone give me some EASY TO UNDERSTAND directions to just installing Civ 4 without the expansion pack, considering I'm new the Civ 4 games. Oh, and i dont know if this has anything to do with it but the Civ 4 Gold Edition i bought has a disk 1,2 &3 and then a bonus DVD so the games arent on separate disks, all the info and stuff is just split up into 3 different disks. So i dont know if that would make a diff but thought i should let you know. Anything to get help i guess.

The tutorial included with the game isnt exactly ultra informative anyway, this should help you a great deal more...

You should be able to run Civ4-Vanilla by executing Civilization4.exe

I don't have complete, thus can't help your directly as i don't know where it installs the stuff by default.
