Unable to found a new religion

I've been playing CIV 5 for several months now and I haven't been able to found a new religion. Each time I get a Great Prophet and choose the "found religion" option here is what happens.

It takes me to the religion screen where you pick the religion you would like to found. I select one but the "found" button never lights up. Before I enter the screen I've check to see that 3 or 4 religions are still available. When I exit the screen the game does not allow me to end my turn. It is stuck on the "gold" found religion button. I have to go back and reload a saved game to continue play.

You're in the wrong forum, this one is for Beyond Earth, not Civ 5. /edit: Well, not any longer!

But to answer your question: It's not enough to choose a religion, you do also need to pick 2 beliefs. The buttons to do that can be found on the left, just below the religion symbols.

Yes, you have to select a religion symbol and both a founder belief and a follower belief. Then the Found Religion button will go "live." See http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=521444
