Unable to Load main menu

Hello,
I am unable to load/start my game. All I get is a screen which says civilization and has a global. Looks like:

I have made sure that drivers are updated to the latest version. I originally had this with my laptop that had a ATI video card, but home machine has a NVidia card. I have done multiple searches and can't find any solution, only other people who have had the same issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like the Fonts have not loaded or become corrupt, either way its a busted install

Post your dxdiag please using the go advanced button below, then,

Follow this routine exactly to remove civ totally from the system, and to reinstall

Hi thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it is still not working. I gathered a dxdiag which didn't indicate much and tried reinstalling the game +1.52 after I uninstalled it and deleted the my games directory. I didn't see the hidden file even with that view option enabled. Thanks in any case though

Sorry I have been out of town. Enclosed is the Dxdiag. Thanks. Had the same problem on my machine with a ATI card.
