Ok so what happened was when I played Civ 4 with BTS it would crash around 100 turns in so I uninstalled the expansion but for some reason I cannot remember I couldn't uninstall the game itself so I ended up manually finding the Civ4 folder and deleting it.

Now recently I've been wanting to play the game despite the computer having problems running it, but now I find it won't play the game and the computer still has the game marked as a program in the add/remove page. I tried to remove it so I could reinstall but it gives me this error message.

Error Code: -5004 : 0x80041f42

There are no folders that I can manually find to delete...I hope I haven't permanently made it that I can't play my game...

I have a similar problem.
The Civ4 and Civ4: BTS shortcuts had disappeared somehow, so I deleted the folder, and now when I put the disk in to install, it gives me the options: Play, Readme, Exit.
And if I click play, nothing happens. I cant reinstall! Help! :(

*It is Civ4 Complete.

EDIT: No matter, I have managed to fix it.
@Flavius - I hope you get your problem fixed aswell. :)
