2/1/1 - Appears on the map (to everyone) in friendly colours. Can pillage or attack anyone, regardless of colours.

Can be exposed via the Inteligence Agency.

Like the Privateer (but not neutral colours), but inland and safer. What thinks? :)

There are some other forums about this topic.

People seem to think it would unbalance the game.

I personally am in favor of some sort of covert/terror/intelligence units, but I think yours is a bit much.

He will be exposed the moment he will attack, so he should have hidden nationality except if it is an invisible unit. all that can be done in the editor now.

I dont know if there is a relevant flag, I think not.

Well I was thinking, not invisible/not barbarian.

The trouble with privateers is they get attacked by everyone, and cannot penetrate into enemy territory - this is no good for resistance behind enemy lines.

Look at what the French resistance did to the Nazis.

Why is it too much?

A 2/1 is certainly no threat to military units after the age of Inteligence Agencies, but it's just enough to be oportunistic ;)

I made a unit like that and called it Special Forces. Problem with land based privateer units is that if you mass produce the things you can invade a city with out having the repercussions of being in war...which is unrealistic and silly

:wallbash:

I said, not like Privateer/Barbarian. Not neutral colours. Appears friendly (from everyone's perspective).

They would not capture cities without war, because they are very weak & cost a lot to build - as all specialist units should. Only an unprotected city would be at risk, and that's nothing new!!

Archer attaking Infantry is not a great threat, but it would force you to keep units in all cities... which makes it harder to occupy large territories, and that fits with reality... the more over extended you are, the more trouble these little units can cause.

that sounds a good idea to me, but how can it "appear in friendly colours"?
It cannot appear in your colour because you would notice that it is not yours by being unable to move it and it can well happen that you have no allys, no ROP
