Uninstall after patch impossible

I really really need help. After installing the recent patch my game always crashes once I get to the industrial age. What's worse is that I cannot uninstall the game to reinstall it. I didn't have this problem until I uninstalled and reinstalled the game the first time to reinstall the patch. I just know it's the patch.

To get a little better of an idea when I click on uninstall it will go through the setup wizard and then it rushes in the blink of an eye through the uninstalling and then says that it has finished maintenance on Civilization III. Click finish. Civ III is still there. I really need to uninstall the game to reinstall it without the patch.

This is nuts. Can anyone help? Has anyone had this problem??

I have experienced this problem as well, but when I tried to uninstall it wouldn't even begin to do so.

Try installing it to a directory other than the default directory and that should fix your problem

I sent InstallWizard to the Recycle Bin and then reinstalled Civ 3 after deleting all the files manually. This worked ( I couldn't reinstall before) and I'm not really sure why. After I got done I restored InstallWizard.
