Uninstall Issue

I was having problems with the game, namely:

1)It would crash during wonder movies
2)The terrain resource icons failed to display, except for food (which always came up as just 2 food regardless of terrain)


So I ordered a new video card (a 128mb to replace the 64 mb) hoping that would cure my ills, as then I'd be in "reccommended terriotry" with all my specifications.

I uninstalled the game, but when I try and reinstall, only the "play" button pops up, as if the game was already installed. The "install" button should be popping up, I even did a search for Civ 4 files to manually uninstall any leftover files, now there seems to be no trace of Civ 4 on my computer and yet it will not give me an option to install.


Any suggestions?

You're not the only one. I'm in the exact same boat.

Ok, I went into regedit and found some more hidden system files, and deleted them.

I was able to install the game and it works.


The only remaining problem is that the resource yield toggle still fails to display anything except for a uniform 2 food in every tile.
