Now in this forum, the whole of Civfanatics, Apolyton plus many more are *loads* of user-created-units.

Now its come to my attention of
How do these guys create these FANTASTIC units from scratch

I mean some (well quite alot) have said to have been created from just a single photo of a unit. I love to edit stuff and i'd be *damned to just watch these Profesionals do a v.good job of makeing units.

So what i'm saying is, What program is used to make (Espesially the animations (battles, attack, death etc)) these, Paint Shop Pro maybe:confused: Animation Shop:confused: I aint got a clue.

Do you have to be a total expert to make 'em or what?

Cheers

I use POVRAY with Moray, a freeware 3d rendering program for most of the stuff... I then edit the images in a basic image program to fix the shadows and civ-specific colors. I believe Womoks has said he uses Maya... Don't know what the others may use. Then you can use Flicster to turn them into FLC files... Hope this helps a little.

Flicster's on this site

For animation software, just search on Google. Search for free animation software, one of the best and easiest that I found was called Anim8or.

Also check out the magazines like Computer Arts and 3D world - I've got a free copy of Poser, and a couple of full 3D packages from these, and they're not bad, they're free because the companies have released new versions.
